What does Therapy look like?

 In Without category

Therapy can take many forms depending on a number of factors including age of the child referred and the condition referred for.

In some cases it may be appropriate for the Therapist to work directly with your child on very specific targets. In other cases, Therapy may take the form of modelling interaction styles to parents and then coaching parents on how to engage with their child most effectively in order to bring about change.

In all cases, we will have an expectation that parents are involved in Therapy to some degree. Parents are in the best place to support their children’s speech, language and communication development due to their strong emotional bonds and frequency of interactions.
